FOB price
Vehicle cost including inland transport to the Chinese port and export declaration. This is the figure shown on vehicle cards.
Ocean freight
Charged per container or per unit depending on method. RoRo is usually cheaper for one car; containers win from two to four units.
Marine insurance
A small percentage of the CIF value. Recommended on every shipment — damage during loading and transhipment is infrequent but expensive.
Import duty
Set by the destination country and often based on engine size or electric range. Confirm the current rate with a local broker.
VAT
Applied at import in most markets, calculated on the CIF value plus duty. Rates differ by country.
Clearing & handling
Destination port charges, agency fees and inland delivery. These are local costs and are not included in the FOB price.
Duty and VAT rates vary by destination and by vehicle type. The calculator applies indicative rates only; the final breakdown is confirmed against the destination country's current tariff before the proforma invoice is issued.
Common cost questions
A few points buyers ask about before requesting a firm quotation.
Lead time has two parts: production or sourcing, and ocean transit. In-stock units typically load within two to three weeks of deposit; factory-order models depend on allocation. Ocean transit varies by route and is quoted per destination port.
Standard sets include proforma invoice, commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading and certificate of origin. Additional certification required by the destination country is quoted separately.
Payment is by bank transfer in USD to the company account listed on the Contact page. Typical terms are a deposit on order confirmation and the balance before loading. All payments go to the company account — never to a personal account.
