Choosing an EV model for African road and charging conditions
Range, ground clearance, serviceability and spare-part availability matter more than headline battery figures in most African markets.

Charging density, not battery size, decides whether an EV is usable. In markets where home charging is the norm, a smaller battery with a lower price often sells faster than a long-range model.
Ground clearance and suspension matter on unpaved roads. Compact SUVs generally hold up better than low sedans.
Before importing a model, confirm that consumable parts — brake pads, filters, tyres — are available locally or can be shipped in the same container.
